I went on a long rant in one of my uni english classes once, about how "homosocialists" were going to destroy the careful commodification of intimacy and affection our western culture had set up, because their valuation system for friendship and love was not based on exchange value like ours is.
The teacher cracked up, none of my fellow students had any idea what I was on about.
