Feb. 15th, 2005 09:26 amI dreamt a two-page game-magazine spread about some kind of third-person dark-blue-and-black game. On the right side was a couple of shots of the game in action, which looked approximately as dull as a brick. On the left side, though, were a few images of what your avatar could look like. It always had the same body, very squat and in a Wolfensteinian blue suit. Big feet, sort of mildly superdeformed. But the head was customizable, and it was also fairly large (enlarged-Mario proportions). You could choose from a bunch of head models, and then in some unspecified way apply photos of your face as textures (I think there may have been some specific provision that shipped with the game, like a webcam or something, so you could get front, back, sides). They used as examples three fairly weird-looking kids, but the only one I really remember was a gender-indeterminate freckley blank-faced one with a Dan Pussey haircut. It was brilliant.
