Why did the sparkles get vetoed?

The tattoo girl didn't want to do them, because they didn't have outlines, I guess. I know little about tattoos, so this does not compute for me.

I think the official line was "They'd fade and get lost" (they were all designed without outlines and were all warm-toned). Perhaps it was the girl not having sufficient confidence in herself. Dunno. If a sparkle-design is later conceived/approved by an artist, it can always be fixed in post.
