Seems logical. I'd be curious how this ties into socialisation and therefore social adeptness at later ages.

I must have been an unattractive child--we were allowed to run amok everywhere. (The more practical explanation is that it is really hard for one woman to keep her eye on five children all at once, short of putting them on one of those child leashes.)
