I had this idea for an LJ quizmeme that struck me as being pretty appropriate.
The thing:
Make a mix representing your love life (can also be your emotional life, or anything you really feel like doing). It should be normal cd-length (10-25 songs), unless you want to do a two-cd set or what have you. Ideally it should be a mix you could actually make (you have/own the pertinent songs). You don't have to do one person per song or anything; you can expand a drawn-out life-period or compact a boring one. I think the important part is that it be chronological and that it make some sense to you, at least. So once you've done that, you can post the tracklist and annotate if desired.

LIKE THIS!

01. Man or Astroman - Philip K. Dick in the Pet Section at Wal-Mart
This is a retrospective song assignment, but I figured it was a fair sum-up of (the good parts of) my time with my major ex.

02. Mogwai - Oh How the Dogs Stack Up
The bad parts.

03. The Handsome Family - Amelia Earhart Vs. the Dancing Bear
The really extra bad parts.

04. Tom Waits - November
Big breakup with ex, hated it, lost job as result of distraughtness. I'd followed him to Seattle, and was marooned there.

05. The Lowtax Looper - Dance Dance Karnov Level 1
In self-defense, I got involved with Something Awful, 2000-ish. Talking to people who are agreeably weird is good.

06. Beta Band - Dry the Rain
Occasionally I still talked to my ex, but I managed to detach more and more. Good.

07. Hanne Hukkelberg - Hoist Anchor
Then I got away entirely. Still in Seattle, though.

08. Elvis Costello - Watch Your Step
I should have, but did not, even though this song was stuck in my head a lot. This was the ill-omened start of my little thing with the cross-dressing 19-year-old british kid.

09. Sparklehorse - Most Beautiful Widow in Town
I hate this song. Cross-dressing british kid liked Sparklehorse a lot, so I was trying to enjoy it or something, which ended up being mostly impossible. Then he proved too nutsy to deal with, and, oh, whatever. I was sad at the time, and quite bitter.

10. The English Beat - Sugar and Stress
I went to SANE, the SA meetup in the northeast. It was extremely sugar-fuelled and probably my first real experience with in-person flirting. (Another retrospective song-choice.)

11. Moxy Fruvous - Laika (live version)
JP maintains that he gave this song to Cecil, but I got it from Cecil, so I don't know.

12. Depeche Mode - Shake the Disease
The first time I visited Austin, to see Vorpal and Cecil.

13. Brand New Heavies - Snake Hips
Not going into this.

14. Frank Black - Czar
This was the song I've assigned to Vorpal, after the fact. Seems appropriate.

15. The Pillows - Happy Bivouac
Here is where I started talking to JP, in IRC. IRONICALLY, british kid got me invited into the super-max-exclusive IRC channel.

16. Ashley McIsaac - Hi How Are You
Detour. Met pretty cool guy completely wrong for me, yet tried to deal anyway. This song was from him. It's a good song.

17. (unknown) - Cathode
Met JP. Short atmospheric song for a short meeting smashed full of awesome and portent.

18. Jean-Jacques Perrey - Chronophonie
This was for our meeting up in Austin over Halloween. Another too-short time, but... man.

19. Laugh and Beats - Universal Dance
Then he came to get me, in Providence.

20. nervoustestpilot - synthelabo
We drove to Madison together, in December, so that I could move in with him.

21. Yukari Fresh - Napoli
And then a lot of nice things happened! Compress, compress!

Downloadable here! Yousendit, as optic_options pioneered.

NowpleaseIbegyou join in at least a BIT, so I will have not done this in VAIN! Although honestly I kind of wanted to do it anyway.

I'm so down for this, but I haven't the time just yet. Soon perhaps.

A Capital Idea!

Mean to say actually that I plan on doing this it is a good "ME ME". (see how much more sense the word makes when you write it like that?)
